Profile of the programme: 

Technical Information Security Systems major combines study of the natural science disciplines (higher mathematics, physics, engineering and computer graphics, algorithmic languages and programming; basics circles theories, signals and processes in technical security systems) with advanced study of professional disciplines: methods and means of technical information security, integrated systems of authorized access, technical means of facilities security; component base of technical information security means; designing complex information security systems; information security systems; computer methods of analysis and design of electronic means including basic disciplines of the related subject areas: «Security of the Information and Communication Technologies» and «Information Security Management».
This gives an opportunity to train professionals who will be able to solve an array of urgent problems in the field of information security. These problems are: design, implementation and operation of technical information security systems at the facilities of information activity.
The total credit load of the curriculum is 240 ECTS credits, including social and humanitarian modules — 30.5 cr., fundamental, natural science and general economic modules — 82 cr., modules of professional and practical training — 127.5 cr.

    • the main provisions of regulations on technical information security systems;
    • requirements for the business unit management, responsible for information security at the enterprise;
    • project management;
    • management of the human resources security;
    • marketing of the information security products and services;
    • main information security threats;
    • information security incidents management;
    • how to ensure standardized quality of technical information security services.
  3. Intellectual (thinking) skills:T The graduates have to be able to:
    • conduct research in the field of information security;
    • design specifications for technical means of information security project;
    • create and implement designs of the objects, devices and technical information security systems;
    • develop the organizational mechanisms, that ensure information security;
    • organize performance of the professional activity;
    • prepare and make managerial decisions;
    • manage information security system;
    • ensure functioning of the means of technical information security systems;
    • test the means and complexes of the technical information security systems;
    • ensure functioning of the technical systems of inter objection control and overflow mode;
    • conduct certifications of technical means and information resources;
    • ensure control over access provision to information resources;
    • predict the state of enterprise information security and determine how effective is the impact of involved measures and technical information security means;
    • provide the effective operation of the means of technical information security systems;
    • do repair work using means and complexes of technical information security systems.

    The graduates have to be able to use such skills:
    • communication skills, including oral and written communication in Ukrainian and at least in one of the most spread European languages;

The activity objects of a Bachelor in Technical Information Security Sustems are analysis and specification of safety requirements to the objects; development of the information security systems complex; management of technical information security systems; monitoring of systems and subsystems of information security and technical information security systems.

Occupation: a specialist in information security management

A specialist is able to perform the following activities:

  • organization of classified information security;
  • operation, modernization and repair of technical information security means;
  • protection of information in computer and other technical means from copying and unauthorized access;
  • organization of secrecy;
  • organization of security for industrial objects, homes and public buildings including the assessment of their safety;
  • security activities carried out with the help of mechanical and electrical protective devices;
  • investigation and inquiry;
  • supervision, protection and other kinds of security.
Access to further studies: 

Bachelor in Technical Information Security Systems may continue his/her studies at university on the second cycle degree (Specialist, Master) majoring in: Protection of Classified Information and Automated Processing; Protection Systems Against Unauthorized Access.

Examination regulations, assessment and grading: 
Provisional Regulation on knowledge evaluation and recognition of students’ rating in the credit-modular system of the educational process.

Сompleted curriculum with credit load — 240 ECTS credits, defended bachelor’s thesis.
